Chautauqua on Family Resilience

Fri, 2018-02-23 08:30
OSU-Tulsa
North Hall
Friday, February 23, 2018, 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.

The 2018 Chautauqua will focus on the relation between community resilience and family resilience. Scholars and practitioners will present information on the micro-, meso-, and macro-level factors that contribute to family and community resilience. Moderated panel discussions will focus on how community-level policies and programs facilitate the distribution of resources, assets, and opportunities that provide valuable assistance to families who are struggling or in crisis due to economic hardship, mental illness, and the effects of natural and human made disasters. Representatives of local government and community agencies who are on the “front lines” of developing policies and programs to assist families will provide valuable context for understanding the science on the ways communities provide an environment that encourages and nurtures family resilience, as well as factors that foster resilience at the community level.
This event is sponsored by the College of Human Sciences, Center for Family Resilience.
