Cimarron National Works on Paper

Tue, 2019-10-08 08:00
Tuesday, October 8, 2019, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

September 9 - October 10

Reception Thursday, September 12, 5-6p

Juror’s talk Thursday, September 12, 6-7p

With nationally prominent jurors and a purchase prize, the introduction of the Cimarron National Works on Paper Invitational competition and exhibition in 1987 cemented OSU’s commitment to innovation. The Cimarron National was put on hiatus in 1995; during the development of the OSU Museum of Art, discussions resumed about its revival. More recently, donors have generously supported that effort, which has been taken up by the Department of Art, Graphic Design, and Art History. The Cimarron National has always interpreted its mandate loosely, including photography, drawing, printmaking, and paper-based relief sculpture in past exhibitions.

Beef Quality Summit - Session 1

Mon, 2019-10-07 16:00
Monday, October 7, 4 p.m. – Wednesday, October 9, 2019, 1 p.m.

Oklahoma Beef Quality Summit classes are scheduled for October 7-9 and October 9-11, 2019, at the Oklahoma State University campus in Stillwater. (The program begins at 4 p.m. on the first day and concludes at 1 p.m. the last day.) Using the National Beef Quality Audit as the foundation, the Beef Quality Summit course offers participants the opportunity to see the causes and results of quality challenges facing the beef industry. Summit attendees from ranchers to processors evaluate live cattle in an effort to predict quality and yield then follow the cattle through the harvest and grading process. As an attendee, you will actually fabricate a beef carcass into wholesale meat cuts.

If you haven’t been to this outstanding educational event hosted by the Oklahoma Beef Council, Oklahoma State University and the Robert M. Kerr Food & Agricultural Products Center, now is the time to do so.
