Painting Party

Join us for a fun evening of painting, socializing, and relaxing. Guided by our facilitator, the group will work at individual easels to create a masterpiece that is suitable for framing. The goal is to open up and enjoy an evening of creative expression, regardless of existing artistic knowledge. No painting experience required. This is a great way to build new relationships or bring team members closer together. Our painting for this event will focus on a beautiful Mountain Silhouette.

Art Academy, 10-12 year olds

This after school art class is designed for students to develop his or her artistic aptitude. Throughout the course, students will build a foundation of drawing skills and art history knowledge, as well as be exposed to many new mediums in both the 2D and 3D arts. Open to all skill levels, this art class is intended for long term growth in the visual arts. Students will receive expert hands-on art instruction, develop critical thinking skills and have lots of fun!



Instructor's name

Liz Dueck is a teaching artist who works primarily in landscape oil painting and ceramic sculpture. She received her BFA from Oklahoma State University as well as a minor in Art History and a K-12th Teaching Certification for Art. Dueck has exhibited her work at various galleries in the OSU campus, as well as in Tulsa and Oklahoma City. Last year she had taught art in Costa Rica and now is very excited to work with the community of Stillwater as the new Art Education Coordinator of the Prairie Arts Center.

Youth Pottery 6-9yo

For our young clay enthusiasts, this class is a fun and thorough introduction to the hand building basics of pottery! Students will learn about various techniques with clay, the firing process, and glazing. Students can be at any skill level to participate, and by the end of the course will take home unique projects.

The College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources coordinates the CASNR Career and Internship Fair each fall semester as a networking and connection opportunity for both students and employers of the diverse respective industries.  This career event features employers from throughout the globe who are interested in students with backgrounds in the fundamental sciences, such as chemistry and biology, as well as applied sciences, including food science, horticulture, fisheries and wildlife, animal science, biosystems engineering, agronomy, and environmental science - just to name a few. Employers seeking students with skills in agribusiness, communications, agricultural education, and leadership also attend this event. The career fair is open to all OSU students and alumni interested in exploring career options, meeting industry professionals and making connections for internships and full-time jobs.

“Using the Chinese writing system as an entry point, the artist deconstructs, analyzes, and reconstructs the process of art making. This series of work addresses issues surrounding the systemization and institutionalization of art-making throughout human history, and the similarities of this pursuit across different cultures. These digital compositions are reminiscence of traditional painting, illustration, prints, and photography. Gong’s work has been exhibited nationally and internationally in the U.S., Europe and China.”

Pete's Pet Posse Accepting Applications for Class 7

If you are affiliated with Oklahoma State University, and have an animal you think would work well as a therapy pet, you can apply by completing an application.



Scholarships are also available.



Applications are due September 30, 2018, and must have the signature of your Department Head or Supervisor. 

The selection process takes approximately three months and training for the program begins in January. 

 

Submitting an application does not guarantee acceptance into the program.
