New Student Orientation FAQ's
We know you've probably got a lot of questions surrounding New Student Orientation. We've comprised a list of questions we think that you may be of use to you, please see our NSO frequently asked questions below.
How to transfer
What happens if your preferred room doesn’t open up or you don’t get with a preferred roommate? Can you move before move-in day?
- At this point in the year we are unable to provide transfers, but starting the first day of classes, students can request a transfer to a preferred space. Our staff will review openings at that time due to students who changed their plans or didn’t attend OSU and we will start offering transfers the Tuesday after Labor Day.
How to reach out
During the course of the semester there may come a time where students are not as responsive to calls from mom or dad, or you have concerns about your student. We are here to help! If you need our staff to touch base with your student, please reach out to the housing office and ask for help. We can visit with parents about concerns and find the best way forward. Our staff is also available to do a wellness check if needed.
