Service Dogs, Emotional Support Animals, Pets
OSU Housing and Residential Life (HRL) recognizes the important role animals can play in residents' lives. To help maintain a safe and welcoming residential community, students planning to bring a service animal, emotional support animal (ESA) or pet to university housing must complete the Animal Registration Process before the animal arrives on campus.
Animal Registration Process
The Animal Registration Process is completed through the OSU Housing Portal and includes two parts.
IMPORTANT: All required documentation and approvals must be submitted and received before an animal is brought to campus housing.
-
Part 1: Animal Housing Process and Agreement
Students begin by providing information about themselves and their animal, including:
- Animal Policy and Responsibilities Agreement
- Standard of Care Acknowledgment
- Emergency Handler Information
- Animal Information:
- Species
- Breed
- Weight
- Birthdate
- Vaccination records, including rabies documentation when applicable
- Roommate Notification
-
Part 2: Animal Identification Form
After Part 1 is submitted, students will receive an email notification at their OSU email address when Part 2 becomes available in OSU Housing Portal.
In Part 2, students will:
- Create an animal profile
- Upload a photo of the animal
- Assign the animal to their housing assignment
Part 2 should be completed before the animal arrives on campus.
