The Resident Success Framework is the department’s framework in helping residents build meaningful, consistent relationships that promote Connection, Ownership and Well-being

Every interaction is an opportunity to help residents feel connected, supported and engaged in their residence hall community.

» Connection

Build personal relationships by getting to know your residential community and build a connection to OSU..

Goal: Know each other’s names, stories, and lived experiences and finding your connection to the Cowboy family.

Maximize your experience by:

  • Join the RHA board of directors.
  • Compete in intramurals as a floor.
  • Eat meals together in the Dining Centers.
  • Attend floor programs together.
  • Participate in on OSU traditions like Homecoming.

» Ownership

Take an active role in shaping your community, solving challenges, and navigating your OSU experience.

Goal: Residents feel empowered to contribute to and influence their residence hall community.

Maximize your experience by:

  • Working through conflict with your roommate and community members.
  • Take accountability for your actions.
  • Speak up to improve your community.
  • Help your RA plan fun things to do and invite your friends.

» Well-being

Bolster your overall wellness by recognizing needs, practicing habits to positively impact your wellness, and connecting to campus resources.

Goal: Residents feel seen, supported and cared for.
