2026 Favorite Faculty Awards

The Favorite Faculty Awards, hosted by Housing and Residential Life, were held this April. Honorees were nominated by students across multiple categories, including Professional Preparedness, Ethical Leadership, Engaged Citizenship, and Personal Responsibility.

Congratulations to this year’s recipients:

Professional Preparedness — Dr. Todd Halihan, Geology

Ethical Leadership — Hiroka Thornton, Languages and Literature

Engaged Citizenship — Dr. Kathryn Weinland, Psychology

Personal Responsibility — Dr. Jaime Schussler, Civil and Environmental Engineering

Housing and Residential Life is proud to present the Favorite Faculty Award, recognizing Oklahoma State University faculty members who have made a meaningful and lasting impact on students living in OSU housing.

Students are invited to nominate a faculty member who has gone above and beyond to support, inspire and positively influence their collegiate experience. This award celebrates faculty who play a vital role in student growth, success and development.

Nominations will help identify faculty who best support students in developing OSU’s Ideal Graduate Competencies:

Professional preparedness
Ethical leadership
Engaged citizenship
Personal responsibility
