Toilet paper and human waste (or human excreta) are the only things that should be flushed down the toilets in the bathrooms. Anything else and you may run the risk of clogging the pipes or overflowing the toilet entirely. These such items are:

  • Sanitary/baby wipes don’t dissolve as toilet paper does and can clog pipes.
  • Paper towels are similar in that they don’t dissolve,.
  • Excess toilet paper can clos pipes when flushed in large quantities.
  • Cotton swabs can act create a dam when flushed.
  • Feminine products, including tampons, can clog pipes.
  • Dental floss can act like a net and clop pipes.
  • Loose hair restricts water flow.
  • Band-aids are sticky and water resistant. They can stick pipes and other items when flushed.
  • Kitty litter often hardens upon coming into contact with water.
  • If the item isn’t toilet paper it doesn’t need to be flushed. Dispose of all waste properly in a lined trash can/bin.

  • You must provide your own shower curtains or shower liners.
  • Shower curtains or liners are required for all units with shower/tub.
  • Curtains and/or liners prevent water from damaging the bathrooms.
