Syringes and Sharps Disposal
To ensure the safety of all residents and staff, students who use injected medication
(such as insulin) or test blood must dispose of their sharps (hypodermic syringes,
needles, and lancets) responsibly.
Never dispose of a loose sharp. Place sharps in a sharps container or a thick plastic
bottle that can be tightly capped (like a Gatorade bottle). Once the container is
full, seal it with heavy tape and place it in the trash so anyone handling the container
knows it contains sharps.
Don't place sharps containers in recycling or where children can reach them.
