Housing Registration for 2026-2027

This housing registration timeline applies to the following populations: 

• Transfer students
• Any OSU undergraduate new to OSU housing

Important Dates

• (Feb. 1) Registration begins February 1 at 8 a.m. To register, log in to the OSU Housing Portal using your O-Key credentials.
• (April 1) A limited number of on-campus housing spaces are available for admitted transfer students who complete their housing registration by the priority deadline of April 1.
• (April 2) Students who register after April 1 will be placed on a standby list and may be assigned OSU housing based on availability. We recommend that students on the standby list also make alternate housing arrangements.
• (On or by July 15) If you need to cancel your housing registration, complete the Request to Cancel form in the OSU Housing Portal on or by July 15 to avoid a $250 late cancellation fee.
• (Aug. 12-13) General Move-In Days.
• (Sept. 30) Registration closes. If you need housing after this date, contact the Occupancy Team at reslife@okstate.edu or 405-744-5592.

Note: The dates and details listed below may change. Unless otherwise specified, all activities close at 11:59 p.m. All times listed are in Central Standard Time (CST).

What you need to know

• Residency Requirements
  • Transfer students are not required to live in university housing or submit a Housing Exemption Request. 

  • Housing for transfer students is not guaranteed, but the Occupancy Team works diligently to provide housing to all students who complete their registration. 
• Request to Cancel Housing
  • Complete the Request to Cancel (form) in the OSU Housing Portal on or by July 15 to avoid a late cancellation fee.
  • After processing, you will receive an email with your status. If declined, we will provide next steps.
• Room Assignment Notifications
  • If you are not assigned a room by June 1, you will be placed on the standby list.
  • Afterward, room assignments will be sent every two weeks through August 1.
• Room Swap and Waitlist Options

  Options available June 1 – July 15 for students with room assignments via the OSU Housing Portal:

  • Room Swap: Two students agree to swap rooms (not available for LLP residents)
  • Waitlist: Request a room in a different housing style (managed by the Occupancy Team)
• Move-In Days

  Be sure to visit theOSU Housing Portalto select your move-in appointment time. Dates are subject to change.

  • August 7 for band, PTP and student employees who's supervisors provide their information.
  • August 9 for Sorority
  • August 11 for Admitted Student Day participants
  • August 12-13 for General Move-In
