Registration opens December 1 for OSU students needing housing for Spring 2027 only.
To register, log in to the OSU Housing Portal and select the “Spring-Only” tab.
The dates and details listed below may change. Unless otherwise specified, all activities close at 5 p.m. All times listed are in Central Standard Time (CST).
What's New
Upper-division students, including first-year transfer students, must pay a $300 housing deposit when registering. Go to the OSU Housing Portal for information about cancellation dates and fees.

(Dec.1-Jan. 29) Dates to submit Housing Exemption Request for the Freshman Residency Requirement
- The Housing Exemption Request is available in the OSU Housing Portal.
- To access it, first-year students must have a completed housing registration.
- Reminder: First-year students under 21, unmarried and without dependents, are required to live in university housing. Students who do not meet the requirement must be granted a housing exemption or pay the Freshman Noncompliance Fee, which is equivalent to two semesters of housing rates. For 2025-2026, the freshman noncompliance fee is $2,767 for the fall semester plus $2,767 for the spring semester for a total of $5,534.

(Opens Dec. 1 at 10 a.m.) Housing registration opens
- Registration begins December 1 at 10 a.m. To register, log in to the OSU Housing Portal using your O-Key credentials.
- Students will rank housing styles (traditional, suites, deluxe suites and apartments).
- Visit the Hall Finder to learn about room types, floor plans, hall/room amenities, rates and more.

(Week of Dec. 14) Room assignments are emailed
- Room assignments are emailed to your OSU email address the week of December 14 to students who have completed registration. If you complete housing registration after this week you will be assigned in early January.
- If you have not received your room assignment by January 8, contact reslife@okstate.edu

(Jan. 5) Last day to cancel without a late cancellation fee of $250
- To cancel housing registration, submit a Request to Cancel through the OSU Housing Portal to request to have your room assignment canceled.

(Jan. 9-11) Spring Move-In Days
- Go to the appropriate Desk Services location to pick up your keys.

(By May 8 at noon) Spring Move-Out
Review Move-Out Overview for detailed information.
- Move-out must be completed 24 hours after OSU's last finals (Saturday, May 8 at noon).
- Graduating seniors have until Sunday, May 9 at 1 p.m. to move out.

(May 8) Move-out date for residents assigned to year-round housing neighborhoods
Your move-out date for a Spring-only lease is May 8. If you need to stay until May 30, you will need to submit and be approved for a Last Stay (the form is in the OSU Housing Portal under "Forms."). You will be charged a daily rate for those days.
If you need to stay in your apartment beyond May 30, you must submit your 2027-28 housing registration.

(May 9-11) Transition to summer housing assignment
- Spring residents who have summer leases will move to their summer rooms. Instructions will be emailed
