Request to Change Rooms

» For incoming 2026-27 residents, to change your housing assignment, you may use the room swap and waitlist options (opens June 1) in the OSU Housing Portal. For more information and instructions, visit Registration: Dates and Deadlines.

» The form for Spring 2026 is closed. The Request to Change Rooms will open after Labor Day for Fall 2026.

Whether you are in undergraduate or year-round housing, if you’d like to move to a different room, you can request a room change through a form in Roompact.com.

• Getting Started (Spring 2026)
  • Room change requests are processed every three weeks, based on availability.
  • Room change fees apply, regardless of whether your request is approved.
  • To get started, submit the Request to Change Rooms in the Roompact.com.
  • Requests are accepted from 10 a.m. on January 20 to 5 p.m. on February 27.
• How and When Requests are Processed
  After submitting your form, you’ll be notified by email whether:

  • you’ve been approved for a room change (with your new assignment), or
  • your request will remain on the waitlist for the next review period.

  Staff will send notification emails every two weeks.

  Room change offers are made on the following dates:

  • • February 17 — Move by February 23 if you accept.
    • March 10 — Move by March 16 if you accept.

  Pick up your new keys from the desk that serves the area you’re moving to during regular hours. Desk Services: Hours and Locations

  • After checking out of your old room and checking into your new room, complete your new Room Occupancy Checklist (ROC) within 48 hours of check-in.
