Upper-Division Student Housing Registration:

Make plans to live on campus

Whether you’re a sophomore, junior, senior or graduate student, you’re part of the OSU community. Where you live can help you stay connected to the people, places and experiences that make your time at OSU meaningful. Living on campus offers convenient access to classes, dining, recreation and other campus resources while helping you stay connected to your community.

What's New for 2027-28

  • Early Consideration Registration

Early consideration registration is open to all OSU upper-division students, whether or not they currently live in OSU Housing.

    • Opens: Nov. 17, 2026, at 10 a.m.
    • Closes: Dec. 15, 2026, at 5 p.m.

Register through the OSU Housing Portal during this period to indicate your housing-style preferences and create a roommate group.

Housing assignment email notifications will begin the week of Jan. 25, 2027. Although ResLife staff will make every effort to accommodate your preferences, housing styles, assignments and roommate requests are not guaranteed.

Missed the early consideration period? The OSU Housing Portal is expected to reopen in late January. Students who register after early consideration may have fewer housing options. Assignments for students who register later will begin in March.

  • Housing deposit and cancellation fees

Upper-division students, including first-year transfer students, must pay a $300 housing deposit when registering.

The deposit is refundable if you cancel on or before April 30 at 11:59 p.m. or after completing six months of residency. Your $300 housing deposit is nonrefundable for cancellation beginning May 1, 2027.

A $1,000 cancellation fee applies to cancellations made June 2 through July 31, 2027.

  • Lease options

Upper-division students may indicate a preference for a 10-month Academic Plus lease or a 12-month Annual lease in select residence halls and apartment neighborhoods:

    • 10-month Academic Plus lease: Aug. 1 through May 31. Designed for students who need housing during the fall and spring semesters.
    • 12-month Annual lease: July 1 through June 30. Designed for students who need housing through the summer without moving between academic years.
  • Find the right housing style for you

Living on campus makes it easy to stay connected to campus, your community and the resources that support your success. Explore available options through the Hall Finder.
