So it's time to move to your new home away from home! Oh, where to start? Start right here and check out this easy guide to make your packing easier. It's packed with a helpful list of items to consider packing for your new adventure!

What to bring

Single Student Housing

  • Sheets, pillows, pillow cases, blanket, comforter/quilt
  • Towels and hygiene products
  • Wastebasket
  • Lamps (no Halogen lamps please), extension cords, and adapters
  • Laptop, computer, printer, and surge protectors
  • Television, Playstation, XBox, Wii and all connections and coax cables (all halls have cable access in the rooms)
  • Cell phone, iPod, iPad, eReader and all chargers and connections
  • Flashlight and Tools
  • Alarm Clock (you don't want to miss class!)
  • First Aid Kit
  • Clothes Hangers, Iron, and Ironing Board
  • Sewing Kit (Mom won't be there to sew on those buttons)
  • Laundry Supplies (All halls feature free laundry facilities. Full size washers and dryers are provided in each apartment unit.) 
  • Kitchen utensils, (cutlery, can opener, dish soap and sponge etc.)
  • Microwave (no more than 900 watts – provided in the apartment units)
  • Refrigerator (no more than 3 amps and 5 cubic feet per room - provided in the apartment units) 

 

Family and Graduate Student Housing

  • Shower curtain

  • Backpack and study/office supplies
  • Athletic wear and gear (the Colvin Center is just a short walk)
  • Decorative features for your room
  • Rugs and carpet

What we provide

  • Built-in dining table and 4 dining chairs.

  • Digital Telephone Access (only OSU Telecom compatible to establish a phone in your room/unit)
  • One desk (only in furnished apartments)
  • Coffee table, corner table/end table, 2 occasional chairs, 1 Sofa-2 seat (only in furnished apartments)

What to leave at home

  • Electrical cooking appliances – toaster ovens, hot plates, etc. (allowed in FGSH)
  • Window Air Conditioning Units
  • Wireless Internet Routers Answering Machine (will not work with OSU's digital phone system)
  • Waterbeds (except in any of the unfurnished apartment units)
  • Ceiling Fans (these are provided in the deluxe suites, Village Suites, and apartments)
  • Fireworks
  • Firearms
  • Halogen Lamps
  • Any pets (exceptions are listed in the Policies)

NOTICE: Air fryers and Instapots (or similar appliances) are approved for use in apartments. However, please leave them at home if you live in the traditional halls, suites, or deluxe suites.

 

Residential Parking

Go to parking.okstate.edu to order your permit online, print your temporary permit and place it on the dash of your car!
