Your OSU adventure starts here! Whether you're moving in for your first semester or returning to campus, we're glad you're here.
Moving into your residence hall is more than unpacking your belongings—it's the beginning of new friendships, new experiences and a community that's here to support you every step of the way.
Use this guide to prepare for move-in and make your arrival on campus as smooth as possible. Check back as your move-in date approaches for the latest updates and information.
Get Ready for Move-In

Step 1: Prepare Before You Arrive
A little planning goes a long way. Before move-in day:
- If you haven't selected your move-in appointment or need to change it, visit the OSU Housing Portal before arriving on campus.
- Visit the Plan Your Move webpage to:
- Review what to bring—and what to leave at home.
- Complete any recommended summer preparation tasks.
- Explore your residence hall with the Hall Finder.
- Review Services and Policies.
- Be sure to visit Financial Responsibility for possible charges and fines associated with the move-in process, including no-shows and early arrival.
- Read our Move-In Day Tips.
- Refer to the Check-in Schedule for your move-in date, check-in time and location.

Step 2: Check In
When you arrive on campus:
- Find your check-in location in the Check-In Schedule below.
- Present your OSU ID, driver's license or other government-issued photo ID.
- Receive your room key and check-in materials.
- Move your belongings into your room.
- After moving in, inspect your apartment. If you notice any existing damage, complete the Move-In Damage Report Form in Roompact.
Note: Your room assignment was sent to your OSU email from reslife@okstate.edu.

Step 3: Move In
To help everyone have a smooth arrival:
- Move your vehicle to a designated parking area as soon as you've finished unloading.
- Keep your room door locked during move-in, as residence halls will have increased traffic throughout the day.
- Housing staff and Cowboy Carriers are available to help with unloading.
Pro Tip: August in Stillwater can be hot. Consider adjusting your room's thermostat to help cool the space.

Step 4: Start Your OSU Experience
Once you've unpacked, it's time to make yourself at home.
- Meet your resident assistant (RA) and roommate(s).
- Attend your first floor meeting.
- Explore your residence hall, dining locations and campus.
- Participate in hall events and OSU traditions.
- Get to know your neighbors and begin building your Cowboy community. Every conversation, event and experience helps shape your Cowboy journey. We can't wait to see the memories you'll create.

Where to Go When Central Check-In Is Closed
If you are checking in after central check-in closes, find your residence hall in the table below and check in at its Desk Service location. Apartment neighborhood residents should follow the year-round housing move-in process and check in at the Family Resource Center (FRC).
