- What's New for 2025-2026
- Aligning with the OSU Mission. To meet the changing needs of OSU’s student population, we took a hard look at our current FGSH housing assignment practices and realized it was time to make the following changes.
- Prioritizing Student Housing. We are prioritizing housing for OSU students, regardless of classification, before
faculty and staff. For the foreseeable future, we will no longer assign apartments
to new OSU faculty or staff.
- Current residents who are OSU faculty and staff will be grandfathered in and will not have to move. However, they must complete a housing registration renewal and continue to be affiliated with OSU. If housing trends change, we will re-address this policy.
- Changing Secondaries to Roommates. Starting June 1, every secondary resident will be considered a roommate. This means each roommate will complete their own housing registration and be charged half of the unit’s rent on their OSU bursar account. If a student resident (primary) is living with family members, only the student will register, sign the lease, and be responsible for the entire rent amount.
- Brumley Neighborhood. Vacant apartments in the Brumley Neighborhood will be assigned to undergraduate students only. However, current Brumley residents may renew their housing registration and keep their unit. Undergraduate students may also be assigned to the Stevens and Demaree Neighborhoods as space becomes available.
- Family and Graduate Student Housing (FGSH). The name is being phased out by May 31, 2025.
- Lease Agreement
- Lease Agreement. To better serve graduate residents, we are offering a new lease agreement. Instead of a standard 12-month lease, qualifying residents must register for housing and sign a nine-month (academic year) lease with an option for a summer extension.
- Qualifying Students. To register for the year-round lease, graduate students must be enrolled and either be married (with or without dependents), single with dependents, or siblings, and continue to be affiliated with OSU in fall 2025. Most new residents with this lease agreement will be assigned to the Prosser, Williams and West Neighborhoods.
- Lease Dates
- Summer Extension (June 1 through Aug. 4). To request the three-month summer extension, residents must have a 2024-2025 lease and be enrolled or affiliated with OSU for Fall 2025.
- Lease Gap (Aug. 5 through Aug. 13). Residents will be charged the daily rate for the lease gap between Aug. 5 and Aug. 13. Residents must stay in the same apartment during the gap.
- 2025-2026 Academic Year Lease (Aug. 14 through May 31, 2026).
