Housing Registration

Registration opens December 1 for everyone (incoming first-year students, transfer students, undergraduate students, graduate students and OSU faculty and staff) who needs housing for Spring 2026 only.
About the Deposit
- Admitted, incoming first-year students must submit the $300 enrollment deposit to register for housing.
- Everyone else, there is a $50 nonrefundable housing deposit, which is payable through the OSU Housing Portal.

Note 2: The dates and details listed below may change. Unless otherwise specified, all activities close at 11:59 p.m.
Timeline for Spring 2026
- (Opens Dec. 1 at 10 a.m.) Housing registration opens for Spring 2026.
- Registration begins December 1 at 10 a.m. To register, log in to the OSU Housing Portal using your O-Key credentials.
- Students will rank housing styles (traditional, suites, deluxe suites and apartments).
- Visit the Hall Finder to learn about room types, floor plans, hall/room amenities, rates and more.
- (Week of Dec. 15) Room assignments are emailed
- Room assignments are emailed to your OSU email address the week of December 16 to students who have completed registration. If you complete housing registration after this week you will be assigned in early January.
- If you have not received your room assignment by January 8, contact reslife@okstate.edu
- (Jan. 5) Last day to cancel without a late cancellation fee of $250
- To cancel housing registration, submit a Request to Cancel through the OSU Housing Portal to request to have your room assignment canceled.
- (Jan. 10-12) Spring Move-In Days
- Go to the appropriate Desk Services location to pick up your keys.

- (Jan. 29) Last day to submit Housing Exemption Request for the Freshman Residency
Requirement for spring.
- The Housing Exemption Request is available in the OSU Housing Portal.
- To access it, first-year students must have a completed housing registration.
- Reminder: First-year students under 21, unmarried and without dependents, are required to live in university housing. Students who do not meet the requirement must be granted a housing exemption or pay the Freshman Noncompliance Fee, which is equivalent to two semesters of housing rates. For 2025-2026, the freshman noncompliance fee is $2,767 for the fall semester plus $2,767 for the spring semester for a total of $5,534.

- Move-out must be completed 24 hours after OSU's last finals (Saturday, May 9 at noon).
- Graduating seniors have until Sunday, May 10 at 1 p.m. to move out.
- (May 10-12) Transition to summer housing assignment
- Spring residents who have summer leases will move to their summer rooms. Instructions will be emailed
