Housing Registration for 2026-2027

This housing registration timeline applies to current undergraduate residents who wish to remain in university housing for the 2026-2027 academic year.
About room assignments
- Room assignments are auto-allocated based on preferences, a completed registration and enrollment status.
- Housing for returning undergraduate residents is not guaranteed; however, the Occupancy Team works diligently to provide housing to all students who complete their registration.

Note: The dates and details listed below may change. Unless otherwise specified, all activities close at 11:59 p.m.
Timeline for 2026-2027
- (Jan. 13 –30) Housing registration underway
- Registration begins January 13 at 10 a.m. and closes January 30 at 5 p.m.
- To register, log in to the OSU Housing Portal using your O-Key credentials.
- Current residents may submit roommate pairs and rank housing style preferences ( apartment, suite, deluxe suite and traditional.
- Current residents registering for housing are not charged a housing registration fee.
- (Week of Feb. 8) Registration status emails
- Students who receive a room assignment the week of February 8 should log in to the OSU Housing Portal to select a move-in appointment time. You may select or change your appointment time at any point before Move In Week.
- Students placed on standby status will be notified once an assignment has been made. Assignments are based on availability.
- Housing registrations that are incomplete as of January 30 will be canceled. However, students may return to the OSU Housing Portal on August 1 when registration reopens.
- How to cancel registration
- To cancel your housing registration, complete and submit the Request to Cancel form through the OSU Housing Portal.
- Between when you complete registration and July 15, if you have an assigned room and need to cancel, you will be charged a cancellation fee of $75.
- For cancellations after July 15, you will be charged the late cancellation fee of $250.
- (June 1 at 10 a.m. to July 15 at 5 p.m.) Room swap and waitlist options
- If you have a room assignment but would like to live somewhere else, log into OSU Housing Portal and update your information.
- If your request has not been made by July 15, you will keep your current room assignment. (Note: Room change form opens after Labor Day.)

- Room Swap: Two students agree to swap rooms (not available for LLP residents).
- Waitlist: Request a room in a different housing style ( apartment, suite, deluxe suite and traditional). Assignments are made on a first-come, first-served basis (and managed by the Occupancy Team).
- (June 1 by 5 p.m.) Enrollment requirement
- You must be enrolled as of June 1 at 5 p.m.; otherwise, your housing assignment will be canceled, and registration will be held until you enroll.

- (Aug. 1 at 10 a.m.) Housing Registration Re-opens
- To register, log in to the OSU Housing Portal using your O-Key credentials.
- At this time, students will be able to rank housing style preferences ( apartment, suite, deluxe suite and traditional.
- Current residents registering for housing are not charged a housing registration fee.

- (Sept. 30) Registration closes
