Semester Breaks and Holidays
Pro Tip: During breaks and holidays, the residential halls stay open so you can come and go as needed.

Students’ Fall Break (No Classes)
Monday, November 25 through Wednesday, November 27
Thanksgiving BreakThursday, November 28 through Friday, November 29
Housing and Residential Life Offices are closed for Thanksgiving Break on Nov. 28-29, 2024. All offices will follow OSU's hours of operation. Regular hours resume Monday, December 2, 2024.
- Student Break/Thanksgiving Break: Service Hours
DESK HOURS (TBA)
All desks are closed for fall break except for Village A (Village FIT) and Griffith Community Center.
Village A (Village FIT) is open 24 hours per day from Sunday, November xx through Sunday, November xx.
Griffith Community Center is open from 8 a.m. to midnight from Sunday, November 19 through Saturday, November 25.
- On Sunday, November 26, the Griffith Center is open from 4 p.m. to midnight.
FAMILY RESOURCE CENTER HOURS (TBA)
Family Resource Center is closed from Wednesday, November 27 through Saturday, November 30. On-call staff is available. University Laundry and the Brumley Laundry will be open during winter break. If you need FRC assistance during the break, call 405-564-4028.
MAINTENANCE ASSISTANCE
- If you have maintenance-related issues during office hours, contact the HRL Facilities Office at 405-744-8510.
- If something happens after-hours, contact OSU Facilities Management at 405-744-7154.
- Student Break/Thanksgiving Break: Prepare Your Space Before You Leave
Follow these precautions to secure your home and prevent weather-related issues:
- Unplug appliances/electronics (except refrigerator)
- Set thermostat to heat between 70° to 75°
- Take trash to dumpster
- Clear floor and breezeways of boxes, electronics and personal items
- Open cabinets under bathroom and kitchen sinks
- Remove perishable food items
- Turn off lights, lower shades and tilt blinds up
- Lock doors including bedroom and patio/balcony
- Pick up mail and take all valuables and pets with you
If you plan to be on campus at any time during the break, let us know.
- You can update the Plan to Stay on Campus form anytime. Your updated information will be shared with campus partners, including OSU Police Department and University Dining Services.

Winter Break
Monday, December 23, 2024, through Wednesday, January 1, 2025
All offices, including Housing and Residential Life, will follow OSU's hours of operation. Offices will be closed Monday, December 23, through Wednesday, January 1, 2025. Regular hours resume Thursday, January 2, 2025

We know you have earned a break and hope you come back to campus ready to tackle the last of your fall classwork. However, before you leave be sure to follow the checklist below.
Prepare Your Space:
Follow these precautions to secure your home and prevent weather-related issues:
- Set heat to auto between 70° to 75°.
- Open cabinet doors beneath bathroom and kitchen sinks.
- IMPORTANT: Clear floor and breezeway of boxes, electronics and personal items.
- Throw away trash and recycling.
- Remove perishable food items from your space.
- Unplug appliances/electronics except refrigerator.
- Close and lock windows, lower the shades and tilt slats up.
- Lock doors including bedroom and patio/balcony doors.
- Pick up mail and take your valuables with you.
- If you have a pet, you must take it with you.
If you plan to be on campus at any time during the break, let us know.

- New Year's Day 2025Housing and Residential Life Offices are closed for New Year's Day on Wednesday, January 1, 2025. Setting off fireworks inside Stillwater city limits is illegal.
