Current Residents

What to do and when to do it! Key dates and deadlines for living in OSU Housing from move-in to move-out. Information below may be updated as needed. Scroll down for Summer 2026 and Spring 2027 dates.

Note: During breaks and holidays, the residential halls stay open so you can come and go as needed.


Fall 2026

  • (Aug. 7-13) Fall 2026 Move-In Days

    To plan your move, visit Move-In Overview

    • Aug. 7 for band, PTP and student employees whose supervisors provide their information.
    • Aug. 9 for Sorority
    • Aug. 11 for Admitted Student Day participants
    • Aug. 12-13 for General Move-In
  • (Sept. 7) Labor Day
    • Housing and Residential Life Offices are closed for Labor Day on Monday, Sept. 7.
  • (TBA) Request to Change Room Assignments may be made during this time frame.
    • Requests are processed pending the availability of rooms. For detailed information and instructions, visit Request to Change Rooms.
  • (Nov. 16-20) Home Improvement Week
    • Does something in your space need repaired? Broken blinds? Stopped up sink? Drawer won't shut?
    • We ask that you report any wear and tear so we can get it fixed.
    • Call HRL Facilities Office 405-744-8510.
  • (Nov. 23-27) Student Break/Thanksgiving Break
    The halls are open from Saturday, Nov. 21, through Sunday, Nov. 29. You may come and go as needed.

    Student Fall Break (No Classes)

    • Monday, Nov. 23 through Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2026.

    Thanksgiving Break (University Holiday)

    • Housing and Residential Life Offices are closed for Thanksgiving Break on Nov. 26-27. All offices will follow OSU's hours of operation. Regular hours resume Monday, Nov. 30.
  • Student Break/Thanksgiving Break: Desk and Maintenance Services

    Maintenance Assistance

    • If you have maintenance issues, contact the HRL Facilities Office at 405-744-8510.
  • Student Break/Thanksgiving Break: Prepare Your Space Before You Leave

    Follow these precautions to secure your home and prevent weather-related issues:

    • Unplug appliances/electronics (except refrigerator).
    • Set thermostats to HEAT, AUTO, and between 68-75 degrees (even if it is 80 degrees the day you leave).
    • Take trash and recycling to the appropriate dumpster.
    • Clear your floor and breezeways of books, boxes, electronics and personal items.
    • Open cabinets under bathroom and kitchen sinks.
    • Remove food that will spoil from your refrigerator and your room.
    • Fully shut and lock all windows
    • Turn off lights, lower shades and tilt blinds up.
    • Lock doors, including bedroom and patio/balcony.
    • Pick up mail and take all valuables and pets with you.
    • Remove any food and wash dishes in the community kitchens.
    • Hall staff may enter your space to ensure it is ready for a freeze.
  • (Dec. 6-12) Finals Week Quiet Hours
    • Beginning the Sunday before finals week, Housing and Residential Life implements 24-hour quiet hours to support residents as they prepare for final exams. During Finals Week Quiet Hours, noise should not be audible beyond a resident’s room or apartment.
    • The 24-hour quiet period concludes on Friday of finals week at 5 p.m. Residents are expected to remain considerate of others within their community at all times. Adhering to quiet hours helps maintain an environment that supports academic success.
  • (Dec. 11) Semester ends. Make plans for move-out if you are graduating or leaving OSU Housing.
  • (Dec. 13-Jan. 10) Student Winter Break
    • The halls are open. You may come and go as needed.

  • (Dec. 24-Jan. 1) University Holiday
    • All offices, including Housing and Residential Life, will follow OSU's hours of operation.
    • Offices will be closed Thursday, Dec. 24, through Friday, Jan. 1, 2027.
    • Regular hours resume Monday, Jan. 4, 2027.

» Spring 2027

  • (Jan. 1) New Year's Day
    • Housing and Residential Life Offices are closed for New Year's Day on Friday, Jan. 1.
    • Setting off fireworks inside Stillwater city limits is illegal.
  • (TBD) Housing registration for 2027-2028 for current residents
  • (Jan. 18) MLK Day 2027
    • Housing and Residential Life Offices are closed for Martin Luther King Day on Monday, Jan. 18.
  • (TBA) Requests for room change assignments open
    • Visit Request to Change Rooms for instructions.
    • Note: Room change requests are processed based on room availability.
  • (March 15-19) Spring Break 2027
    • The halls are open. You may come and go as needed.
    • Housing and Residential Life Offices are open during Spring Break. No classes for students.
  • Student Spring Break: Desk and Maintenance Services

    Visit Family Resource Center for hours.

    • On-call staff is available.
    • University Laundry and the Brumley Laundry will be open during break.
    • If you need FRC assistance during the break, call 405-564-4028.

  • (May 8 at 10 a.m.) Spring Move-Out

    Review Move-Out Overview for detailed information.

    • Move-out must be completed 24-hours after your last final. However, all residents must be moved out by Saturday, May 8 at 10 a.m.
    • Graduating seniors have until Sunday, May 9 at 10 a.m. to move out.
