Sworn Statement of Commuting Status
If you are requesting an exemption of the Freshman Residency Requirement because you live within a 30-mile radius of OSU, you must submit a Sworn Statement of Commuting Status (form) along with the Request for Housing Exemption (form) by the deadline for the upcoming academic year.
Requirements
1) If a student is residing and continues to reside in the established primary residence of their parents/legal guardian and within a 30-mile radius of OSU, the parents must have established their primary residency at least six months before the request for an exemption.
2) The legal guardianship must have been established by a court of law at least one year before a request for an exemption to be considered.
